Journal 6- Holiday Shopping

People are waiting in line to get into Best Buy on Black Friday.

So Thanksgiving was last week Thursday which means Black Friday shopping. Thanksgiving Day the ads are released, so those crazy shoppers can make their list of what they want to get at the different stores. Honestly, I am not that big into getting the best deals as I possibly can on something. For one who would want to deal with a bunch of people all at once trying to get what you want to get, that’s just crazy. And how people wait in line the night before so that they guarantee that they are going to get what’s on their list; I give people a lot of props for waiting in line, but my question is why? In today’s society we have a thing called the internet which makes this Black Friday shopping a whole lot easier. Thanksgiving Day my aunt was able to order some Christmas presents online before it even was Black Friday. I took my little brother to Wal-Mart and it seemed like the whole town of Wisconsin Rapids was there, we didn’t even bother to go in and see if we could get his video game. The whole reason why I go out on Black Friday is to see all the crazy people and what they are going after, I am one not to wake up early just to go and get something so I miss getting to see all the crazy shoppers. Personally I would rather do all my shopping online if I was capable; which I am now able to due to Cyber Monday, which is the Monday following Thanksgiving. Cyber Monday allows the same deals that are on Black Friday except they are on the stores. I was watching the news today (11/26/12) and they stated that Cyber Monday provides even better deals. So I am thinking that from now on I am going to say screw waking up early and dealing with a bunch of people, I am going to do all my shopping online on Cyber Mondays. And a bonus to that is that I can stay home and do all my shopping, plus they will deliver everything to my house.

  1. I agree that the idea of Black Friday is a bit ridiculous. It may just be me but the idea of sitting outside for hours just to get slightly better prices seems a bit ridiculous. I have never done Cyber Monday but the idea does sound a lot more appealing the Black Friday to me.

  2. I agree with you about Black Friday. I have gone out for the past 5 or so years just to see the crazy people. However, I will not stand outside in a line to get in for more than 5 minutes. I also did cyber Monday this year and got some good deals both days.
